I read an article and watched a documentary about artist John Bamblitt. He’s good–his paintings are visually stimulating and he’s got a definite style about him but I wouldn’t have been so impressed if I hadn’t known that he was blind.
Wow! I’d tell him that I can’t even paint well WITH my vision but he’d tell me that was my problem. I was overly reliant on one sense when I should be using all of my senses–not just sight. Watch a documentary about John and see him painting.
He’s right–I tend to be overly visual when I should just spend some time with my eyes closed, listening to the world around me.
