The Majestic Theater, Eastland, Texas

We were out at the farm last week meeting with a builder to talk about our new house. It was the first time we’ve stayed overnight in the nearest town and it was exciting to see the community lit up. We stayed at a historic hotel downtown and right next to it is the Majestic Theater. The theater was built in 1920 and served the community for many decades. It was restored to its original glory in 1987. Today, first-run films are shown on Friday to Monday nights and the theater is ran completely by volunteers. I can’t wait to watch my first film there—but I’m also excited by the prospect of volunteering. What a great way to meet new people!
